Together with the Caribbean Israel Leadership Coalition and The Hon. Michael Clifton Pintard, Minister of the Bahamian Ministry of Agriculture, we hosted a webinar series for over 2,500 registrants introducing Smart Farming and its benefit for Caribbean agriculture.

The program was created at the request of The Bahamian Government and was designed to support the increase in the productivity, profitability and resilience of Caribbean agriculture. It provided farmers across the regions with direct access to Israel’s world class experts, its innovations and an online support community.

ReGrow’s model advances projects through connected Field, Innovation, and Policy drivers. The Smart Farming Webinar Series primarily engaged the Field and Innovation drivers.

At the field level, farmers and agri-stakeholders gained practical knowledge, exposure, and peer connections that could help them improve productivity and strengthen local food production.

At the innovation level, the program expanded access to Israeli smart farming expertise and technologies, showing how virtual learning can help transfer proven agricultural knowledge into new regional contexts.

Webinar 1: An Introduction to Smart Farming

This webinar served as a warm welcome to the participants and provided a strong foundational basis upon which to learn about smart farming, the Israeli agri-tech system and what it has to offer the Caribbean.

Webinar 2: Smart Farming from Field to Fork, Pt. 1

This webinar served as the first dive into smart farming applications across the value chain, from field to fork. We heard from experts on smart farming applications for irrigation, agricultural production in greenhouses, shade houses and open fields and also explored vertical farming.

Webinar 3: Smart Farming from Field to Fork, Pt. 2

This webinar served as the second dive into smart farming applications across the value chain, from field to fork. We heard from experts on smart farming applications for poultry production, crop protection, post-harvest and looked at technologies to enhance traceability.

Webinar 4: Israeli Agri-tech Eco-system

This webinar provided an introduction to the Israeli Agri-tech eco-system. Participants were given a broad overview of the eco-system today, got to know several Israeli agri-tech companies operating in the smart farming space and heard from a client and beneficiary in Latin America of Israeli agri-tech.
