Our Approach
ReGrow’s model advances projects through connected Field, Innovation, and Policy drivers. The Agricultural Water Infrastructure Project primarily engaged the Field and Policy drivers. At the field level, communities addressed critical infrastructure constraints that were affecting farm productivity, reliability, and long-term viability.
At the policy level, the project demonstrated that certain agricultural challenges are more effectively addressed through shared community infrastructure. Its success inspired a new government tender to address the challenge in collaboration with philanthropy, ensuring the approach ReGrow piloted can now be scaled.
THE MODEL
Our Three Drivers of Change
To transition to future-ready farming systems, ReGrow believes three interconnected changes must occur together:
- In the Field: Farmers must be able to adopt new practices and solutions
- In the Lab: Scientists and innovators must produce relevant and applicable solutions
- At the Table: Policy decisions must be informed by data to scale
ReGrow’s UVP is in our ability to bring together stakeholders from each domain to understand the challenge and co-design programs, and in our commitment that every ReGrow program strives to effect change in at least two domains.

Strengthening Farming Practice
We work with farmers and local partners to identify barriers, from technology gaps to financial risk, and test practical solutions in real farming conditions.
This includes:
- Piloting new farming practices and technologies
- Exposing farmers to new innovations
- Providing access to finance and risk-reduction tools
- Creating pathways for new farmers entering the sector
Innovation Drivers
Rooted in Farmer Reality
Innovation only matters when it solves real problems. ReGrow works to strengthen a research and innovation pipeline that is shaped by real farm realities and focused on producing practical, applicable solutions.
