Delivered in November 2019, Olive Oil for Peace was created to help Palestinian farmers increase the quality and quantity of locally produced extra virgin olive oil. A four-day workshop brought 23 participants to Israel, where Israeli experts provided both advanced instruction as to the science and advancements in the field, as well as direct, hands-on training in the specific methodologies needed for practical application of solutions in the field. The program focused on water scarcity, pest management and harvesting methodology. The November workshop on Olive Cultivation for Production of High- Quality Olive Oil included training and instruction from over 11 of the Volcani Center’s scientists about the Israel’s cutting-edge research in the field of olive cultivation.
