Recovery Initiative

Dedicated to orchard and vineyard restoration

  • Region: Israel
  • Sector: Orchards & Vineyards
  • Status: Active

ReGrow the North provides targeted replanting and innovation grants to farming communities whose orchards and vineyards were totally destroyed during the conflict.

Orchards and vineyards require 4 years to reach full productivity and so timely replanting is critical. Beyond restoring production, the program also supports the adoption of advanced agricultural techniques, including higher-density planting, trellising systems, and protective netting. RePlant the North allows communities to not only recover what was lost, but to rebuild more resilient agricultural systems for a stronger northern border.

THE MODEL

Project Change Drivers

ReGrow’s model advances projects through connected Field, Innovation, and Policy drivers.  RePlant the North primarily engages the Field and Policy drivers.

At the field level, farmers are able to replant damaged orchards and vineyards, restore productive capacity, and begin rebuilding the agricultural livelihoods that northern communities depend on.

At the policy level, the project highlights the long recovery timeline of permanent crops and demonstrates why agricultural recovery funding must account not only for immediate losses, but for the years of production, income, and community stability at risk when orchards and vineyards are destroyed.
